The Vietnamese Jesuit Province recently announced the publication of several books on Ignatian Spirituality that have been translated into the local language by the Vietnamese Jesuits.

Fr Joseph Le Quang Chung SJ, Parish Priest of Epiphany Parish in Thu Duc, Ho Chi Minh City, has published a Vietnamese translation of the Autobiography of St Ignatius. The book includes commentary on the life of St Ignatius of Loyola. Fr Chung hopes that through the Vietnamese translation of the book, his parishioners will know more about the life of the Jesuit founder, especially during this Ignatian Year.

In addition, two books by bestselling author Fr Timothy M Gallagher OMV are now available in Vietnamese through the efforts of Fr JB Nguyen Trung Kien SJ and seminarians of St Francis Xavier of the Diocese of Vinh in Central Vietnam. These books are, “An Ignatian Introduction to Prayer: Scriptural Reflections According to the Spiritual Exercises” and “Meditation and Contemplation: An Ignatian Guide to Praying with Scripture”.

The books are published by CIS Vietnam and available in Catholic bookstores in Ho Chi Minh City.
