The significance of the cannonball with the benefit of 500 years of hindsight

At Newman College in Melbourne, Australia last week, Fr Peter L’Estrange SJ gave an insightful lecture on Ignatius’ cannonball event to mark the beginning of the Ignatian year.

In his address, Fr Peter spoke about the conversion of St Ignatius following the incident as well as the significant transformation of the Society of Jesus in the early years that occurred across La Storta, Manresa, Rome and Pamplona. [Australian Jesuits]
